At Path Finance Pty Ltd, we are committed to protecting your privacy in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What information do we collect and how do we use it?
We request personal information when assisting you with your finance matters. This may include your name, contact details, date of birth, identification documents, employment and income information, assets and liabilities, expense information, banking details and, where relevant, sensitive information such as health information or details of any vulnerabilities you wish to disclose.
We use your personal information to assess and advise on your credit needs, to submit applications to your chosen credit providers and their representatives, to manage our ongoing relationship with you (including issuing invoices and requesting feedback via mail or electronic channels), and to send you product information, promotions, updates and articles relevant to the services we provide. You can opt out of receiving marketing communications at any time by notifying us. We also use information internally to improve our services and resolve any issues that arise.
What if you don't provide some information to us?
If you don't provide us with full information, we cannot properly advise or assist you with your credit needs.
How do we hold and protect your information?
We take reasonable steps to keep your personal information accurate, complete and current, and to protect it from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. Personal information is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary or as required for legal compliance purposes.
Your information is stored on secure cloud infrastructure, protected by access controls, passwords and unique identifying credentials.
Will we disclose the information we collect to anyone?
We do not sell, trade or rent your personal information.
We may disclose your personal information to credit providers and their representatives for the purpose of assessing and administering your credit application, to our licensee, aggregator and industry bodies, to service providers who perform services on our behalf (including document verification, IT and administration services), to other entities as part of any corporate transaction, and where we are required or authorised by law to do so.
Some of the recipients of your personal information may be based overseas, and are likely to include recipients located in the Philippines, India and Nepal, where certain administration and back-office services are performed. Where information is disclosed overseas, we take reasonable steps to ensure the recipient handles your information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
How can you access, correct or update the information we hold?
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct information you believe is inaccurate, out of date, incomplete, irrelevant or misleading. Please submit your request in writing with sufficient information to identify you.
Requests should be directed to our Privacy Officer, Bahaa Abou Assaf, at bahaa@pathfinanceservices.com.au. We do not charge a fee for receiving an access request or for making a correction.
Your consent
By asking us to assist with your credit needs, you consent to the collection, use and disclosure of the personal information you provide to us for the purposes described above.
Complaints
If you are concerned about how we have handled your personal information, please contact our Privacy Officer at bahaa@pathfinanceservices.com.au. We will acknowledge your complaint promptly and aim to investigate and respond within 30 days.
If your complaint is not resolved to your satisfaction, you may refer it to the Australian Financial Complaints Authority (AFCA) on 1800 931 678 or at www.afca.org.au, or to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at www.oaic.gov.au.
